Open Studio
If you’re familiar with a pottery studio, you don’t have to take a class to start potting.
This is intended for people who will come in regularly to trim, glaze, etc as it takes multiple weeks to finish an item. We have a 5 session package at the end of the page that will save you some money.
Clay can be purchased at the studio. We regularly stock B-Mix, Speckled Buff, and other stoneware in 25lb bags, subject to availability (because, supply chains). You can bring in your own clay but you need to clear it with us first. There are many types of clay and not all will be fired in our kilns.
Basic tools, aprons, towels, and water buckets available. You’re welcome to use our boards and plastic to store your pots, but space is always limited on the shelves.
Firing is included for items you make at the studio. More info about glazes and kilning is available here.
Time frame: Because we have so many people sharing the studio, green pots left for longer than a month on the shelf will be considered abandoned. (We’re totally flexible, and life happens, but just make sure to contact us otherwise they will end up in the recycle.) Bisqued and glazed pots will be saved for 6 months. Again, just contact us. We really don’t want to get rid of your work, but we run out of space. You can always pick it up to store at your house, and then bring back when you’re ready to work on it again.
If you’re looking for more of a one-time thing, let us know when you come in. We have a Muddy Time type hybrid. It will be uninstructed, but you will have three hours and will be responsible for cleaning your wheel. $5 includes 3lbs of basic clay. One pot can be fired and we will glaze it for you. Additional pots are $15.
